According to previous data from the State Statistical Office, the total value of exports of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January – April 2022 amounted to 161 718 572 thousand denars and increased by 15.2% compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the period January – April 2022 amounted to 241 937 565 thousand denars, which is 27.3% more compared to the same period last year.

The trade deficit in the period January-April 2022 amounts to 80 218 993 thousand denars. The coverage of import with export, in the period January – April 2022, was 66.8%.

Commodity exchange denominated in US dollars

In the period January – April 2022, RNM has realized a total trade exchange with R. Türkiye worth 343,351 thousand US dollars, which is an increase of 53.3% compared to the same period in 2021. From that, export to R. Türkiye is 75 866 thousand US dollars, which is an increase of 58.1% compared to the same period in 2021. Imports increased by 51.9% and amounted to 267 485 thousand US dollars. Р. Turkey’s sixth trading partner Macedonia, respectively Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, China and Italy. (State Statistical Office of RNM, 07.06.2022).

Trade in products shows that the largest share of exports are catalysts for carriers with precious metals or their compounds, sets of ignition conductors and the like, for vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferronickel and seat parts of subgroup 821.1. The most represented in the import are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, except crude, other metals of the platinum group and their alloys, unwrought or in powder form, electricity and precious metals in colloidal state; compounds, organic or inorganic, of precious metals, chemically defined or undefined; amalgams of precious metals.

In the period January – April 2022, according to the total volume of foreign trade, the Republic of North Macedonia traded most with Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Türkiye.

The total value of exports of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in the period January – April 2022, amounted to 2 914 835 thousand US dollars and increased by 6.4% compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period amounted to 4 360 394 thousand US dollars, which is 17.7% more compared to the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January – April 2022 is 1 445 559 thousand US dollars.
