According to previous data from the State Statistical Office, the total value of exports of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-November 2021 amounted to 390 084 637 thousand denars and increased by 20.9% compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the period January-November 2021 amounted to 535 648 203 thousand denars, which is 27.7% more compared to the same period last year.

The trade deficit in the period January-November 2021 amounts to 145 563 566 thousand denars.

The coverage of import with export, in the period January-November 2021, was 72.8%.

Commodity exchange denominated in US dollars

In the period January – November, North Macedonia has realized a total trade exchange with R. of Turkey worth 696,416 thousand US dollars, which is an increase of 45.9% compared to the same period in 2020. 

From that, export to R. Turkey is 136 001 thousand US dollars, which is an increase of 61.1% compared to the same period in 2020. Imports increased by 42.8% and amounted to 560 415 thousand US dollars. R. Turkey’s seventh trading partner Macedonia, respectively Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, China, Bulgaria, Turkey and Italy. (State Statistical Office of RSM, 10.01.2022).

Trade in products shows that the largest share in exports is the catalysts of carriers with precious metals or their compounds, sets of ignition conductors and the like, for vehicles, aircraft or ships, seat parts of subgroup 821.1 and ferronickel. Other imports are mostly platinum group metals and their alloys, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (except crude), platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, and ceramic products for laboratory use. chemical and industrial use.

In the period January-November 2021, according to the total volume of foreign trade, the Republic of North Macedonia traded the most with Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Greece and China.

The total value of exports of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in the period January-November 2021, amounted to 7,518,231 thousand US dollars and increased by 25.9% compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period amounted to 10 319 711 thousand US dollars, which is 33.2% more compared to the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-November 2021 is 2 801 480 thousand US dollars.
