Foreign trade, January 2023
According to the previous data of the State Statistics Office, the total value of the export of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in January 2023, amounts to 38,290,737 thousand denars and shows an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. The value of imported goods, in January 2023, is 52,331,819 thousand denars, which is 4.9% more compared to the same period of the previous year.
The trade deficit, in January 2023, amounts to 14,041,082 thousand denars.
The coverage of imports with exports, in January 2023, is 73.2%.
Commodity exchange expressed in US dollars
In the period of January 2023, the Republic of North Macedonia has achieved total trade with R. Turkey in the value of 75 560 thousand US dollars which is 11.0 % increased compared to the same period in 2022. Of that, export to Turkey amounts to 20,5623 thousand US dollars, which represents an increase of 22.0% compared to the same period in 2022. Imports increased by 7.3% and amounted to 54,998 thousand US dollars. R. Turkey is the sixth trading partner of RNM followed by Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, China and Turkey. Trade by product shows that the largest share of exports is catalysts on carriers with precious metals or their compounds, sets of ignition wires and the like, for vehicles, aircraft or ships, electricity and flat products of iron or non-alloy steel, not platinum-plated or uncoated. Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (except crude), other platinum group metals and their alloys, unprocessed or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unprocessed or in powder, and precious metals in colloidal state are mostly represented in the imports ; compounds, organic or inorganic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals.
In January 2023, according to the total volume of foreign trade, the Republic of North Macedonia traded mostly with Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, China and Turkey.
The total value of the export of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in January 2023, amounts to 671 099 thousand US dollars and records an increase of 8.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. The value of imported goods, in the same period, is 916,773 thousand US dollars, which is 0.1% more compared to the same period of the previous year.
The trade deficit, in January 2023, amounts to 245,674 thousand US dollars.
