According to the previous data of the State Statistics Office, the total value of the export of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in the period January – May 2022, amounts to 207 003 332 thousand denars and shows an increase of 18.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. The value of imported goods, in the period January – May 2022, amounts to 306 731 666 thousand denars, which is 29.7% more compared to the same period of the previous year.

The trade deficit, in the period January – May 2022, amounts to 99 728 335 thousand denars. The coverage of imports with exports, in the period January – May 2022, is 67.5%.

Commodity exchange expressed in US dollars

In the period January – May 2022, the Republic of Macedonia has achieved total trade with R. Turkey in the value of 420 739 thousand USD which is 50.0% increased compared to the same period in 2021. Of that, export to Turkey amounts to 92,897 thousand US dollars, which represents an increase of 56.0% compared to the same period in 2021. Imports increased by 48.4% and amounted to 327,842 thousand US dollars. R. Turkey is the sixth trading partner of Macedonia, followed by Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, China and Italy. (State Statistics Office of RSM, 07/06/2022).

In the period January – May 2022, according to the total volume of foreign trade, the Republic of North Macedonia traded mostly with Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The total value of the export of goods from the Republic of North Macedonia, in the period January – May 2022, amounts to 3 690 755 thousand US dollars and records an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. The value of imported goods, in the same period, is 5,470,165 thousand US dollars, which is 18.4% more compared to the same period of the previous year. The trade deficit, in the period January – May 2022, amounts to 1 779 410 thousand US dollars.
